QDRO Services

From Preparation Through Final Plan Approval

Clark Legal provides QDRO services for a wide range of retirement plans, working with the parties, family law attorneys, courts, and retirement plan administrators throughout the process.

As a third-party neutral, Clark Legal does not represent either spouse. The focus is on preparing the QDRO according to the terms of the divorce agreement and the requirements of the retirement plan, and continuing through the plan's final approval.

QDRO Preparation

Clark Legal prepares QDROs based on the terms of the divorce agreement and the specific requirements of the retirement plan.

QDRO preparation may involve a variety of retirement benefits, including 401(k)s, 403(b)s, pensions, FRS and other government retirement plans, as well as military and federal retirement benefits.

Process Management

The QDRO process often involves coordination among the parties, family law attorneys, courts, and retirement plan administrators. Clark Legal manages that communication and coordination as the QDRO moves through the process.

Regular communication with the parties and their attorneys helps address questions, revisions, and plan requirements as they arise, keeping the process moving toward final approval.

Final Plan Approval

Once the QDRO has been entered by the court, Clark Legal submits the order to the retirement plan for review and remains involved through final approval.

If the plan requires revisions or additional information, Clark Legal coordinates with the appropriate parties and continues working through the review process until final approval.

Working With the Parties and Their Attorneys

Clark Legal works with both parties involved in the QDRO process as a third-party neutral, rather than representing either spouse.
